Treatment

How online sore throat care works

Most sore throats are viral and get better with supportive care. If strep is a concern, your provider can review your symptoms and decide whether testing is needed.

  • A licensed Tennessee provider reviews your symptoms and looks at your throat by video
  • If strep is a concern, your provider may recommend a strep test before treatment
  • Supportive care guidance for symptom relief while you recover
  • Work or school notes may be provided when appropriate

Billed self-pay

$52 is our same-day discount: pay on the day of your visit and that flat rate is all you pay. If you choose to be billed instead of using the same-day discount, the visit is billed at $150, never both. Includes 48–72 hour follow-up care. HSA/FSA and most major insurance plans accepted.

Know when to go in

When in-person care is the safer choice

For emergencies, call 911. If you have severe or urgent symptoms that may need in-person care, go to your local urgent care or emergency department. Examples include:

  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Drooling or inability to swallow saliva
  • Severe pain on one side of the throat
  • A stiff neck or trouble opening your mouth
  • Signs of dehydration
  • A high fever that won't come down

These are examples, not a complete list. If your provider determines that telehealth isn't the right level of care for your symptoms and sends you for in-person evaluation, you won't be charged for the TPH visit.
